1. Introduction and Data Controller

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Pill Calculator (the "Tool"), developed by Ethan Wan (the "Developer"). This Policy is prepared in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong (Cap. 486, "PDPO") and its six Data Protection Principles, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and relevant international privacy standards. By using the Tool, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the processing described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 The Tool does not compulsorily collect, store, or upload any personal information, including but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, game account details, or local device data.

2.2 If you register an account, you may choose any ID code at will. All calculations are performed locally on your device, except for the OCR function. You may choose to upload locally stored information to the server for cloud storage; in that case, we process such data only on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) and only for the purpose of storage and synchronisation.

2.3 By default, the Tool transmits no information to the Developer or other network domains, and all information is stored locally unless you choose cloud storage.

3. Use, Disclosure and Legal Basis

3.1 Because the Tool does not compulsorily collect personal data, no use or disclosure of your personal information occurs in the ordinary course. The Developer will never access, share, sell or rent any of your information, whether personal or non-personal.

3.2 Any processing — including of cloud-stored data — is based on your consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation or the Developer's legitimate interests, and is lawful, fair, relevant and not excessive (GDPR Art. 6; PDPO DPP1).

3.3 Where required by law, the Developer may provide relevant non-personal data (if any) in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

4. Cookies and Tracking

4.1 The Tool does not use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies and does not deploy third-party analytics or cross-site tracking beyond what is necessary for the OCR function or your chosen cloud storage.

5. Third-Party Services and Cross-Border Transfers

5.1 Data you choose to store in the cloud may be processed by service providers hosted in or outside the HKSAR. For users in the EU/EEA, any cross-border transfer will rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) under Chapter V of the GDPR and PDPO DPP3.

6. Data Retention

6.1 Local data is retained only as long as you keep it and can be deleted at any time. Cloud-stored data is retained only while your account exists or until you delete it, and not kept longer than necessary (PDPO DPP2).

7. Data Security

7.1 The Developer takes data security seriously and applies reasonable technical and organisational measures under PDPO DPP4. Because the Tool does not compulsorily collect or transmit data, the risk of leakage, loss or tampering is eliminated in the default local mode. The Tool does not access any game files or account data on your device.

8. Children's Privacy

8.1 The Tool is not directed at children and does not intentionally collect personal data from children. Guardians are invited to contact the Developer should any concern arise.

9. Your Rights

9.1 Under PDPO sections 18 and 22 and GDPR Articles 15–22, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data or your local supervisory authority (GDPR Art. 77). To exercise these rights, contact the Developer using the details below.

10. Multi-Regional Compliance

10.1 Beyond the PDPO and the GDPR, this Policy adopts data minimisation and consent-based processing as a common baseline intended to be compatible with data-protection laws in China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, the US and other major jurisdictions.

11. Policy Updates

11.1 The Developer reserves the right to update this Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on the official website and take effect immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review this Policy regularly; continued use of the Tool constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
